It's important to note that sometimes, success in casting isn't just about talent but also about adherence to directions. We encourage you to thoroughly review all provided information to maximize your chances of being cast. Feel free to audition for more than one role; just remember to send separate emails for each character you're interested in.

Project Overview:

We are thrilled to announce casting for our upcoming micro-budget film, "Blood and Lace" This is a fantastic opportunity to be a part of an exciting project that explores unique narratives and showcases diverse talent.

Production Dates:

March 5 -12, 2026

Location: Las Vegas

Travel and Lodging:

For this project, we are currently seeking talent who are able to work as local hires. This means production will not be providing travel or lodging accommodations.

​

Actors who are not based locally are still welcome to submit; however, they must be willing and able to cover their own transportation and housing expenses if selected.

​

We encourage submissions from performers who are professional, reliable, and prepared to handle their own logistics if traveling from out of town. This helps ensure a smooth and efficient production process for everyone involved.

Recording Your Audition

  • Perform the scene using the sides provided.

  • Use a reader (someone off-camera reading the opposite lines).
    Tip: Auditions without a reader — or at minimum a clear pre-recorded off-screen voice for the other character — may be overlooked. Hearing another voice allows your performance to feel natural and shows how you respond in real dialogue.

 

Slate (At the Beginning of Your Video)

On camera, clearly state:

  • Your Full Name

  • Contact Information

  • City & State

  • Role/Character you are auditioning for

  • Whether you are represented by an agent/manager (if applicable)

Keep your slate brief, clear, and professional.

 

Additional Materials

  • Please submit a headshot and/or a recent photo along with your audition email.
    (A clean, well-lit phone photo is acceptable if you do not have professional headshots.)

Title: Blood and Lace

Set in Las Vegas, the story follows Lace — a powerful club owner whose world is turned upside down when someone close to her is murdered. As politicians try to shut her down, she uncovers secrets, betrayal, and a conspiracy that threatens everything she’s built. Now she must fight back to protect her legacy and the people she calls family.

 

Det. Sterling (African American)

  • Age Range: 30s–40s.

  • Description: A plain-clothes detective with a history with Lace. He is professional and observant, but shares a mutual respect and deep tension with Lace.

  • Motivation: Justice and truth. He is driven by a moral code that refuses to plant evidence, even under pressure from superiors.

  • Intimacy Note: This role requires a kissing and making out scene with the lead actress (Lace).

  • Appears in 8 Scenes 

  • Day Rate: $100 a day

Marcus (Open race)

  • Age Range: 30s.

  • Description: Solid, observant, and physically imposing. He is the primary bouncer and head of security.

  • Motivation: Unwavering loyalty to Lace. He acts as the silent, protective wall for the "ladies" of the club and does not hesitate to use force to protect them from harassment or danger.

  • Appears in 9 Scenes

  • Day Rate $80 a day

Bunny (Open Race)

  • Age Range: Late 20s to early 30s.

  • Description: Bubbly but sharp. As the bartender, she is the eyes and ears of the floor, working fast and staying controlled even in chaos.

  • Motivation: Stability and self-preservation. She is loyal to the club's ecosystem and serves as an information broker, alerting Lace or Vanessa when things are out of alignment.

  • Appears in 7 Scenes

  • Day Rate $75 a day

Tiff (Open Race)

  • Age Range: 20s.

  • Description: An ambitious member of the floor staff. She is easily distracted by her personal life and phone, specifically by her "Sugar Daddy".

  • Motivation: Upward mobility. She seeks stability and "more than was promised," naively playing a high-stakes game with powerful men.

  • Intimacy Note: This role involves a simulated sex scene with Senator Vaughn. The scene involves the characters being partially dressed (Tiff straddling Vaughn) in the aftermath of urgency. No nudity is required.

  • Appears in 11 Scenes

  • Day Rate $100 a day

Senator Steve Vaughn (Open Race)

  • Age Range: 40s–50s.

  • Description: A high-profile politician seeking to "clean up the city". He is polished but hides deep-seated addictions and patterns of infidelity.

  • Motivation: Power and image preservation. He is driven by a need for control and manages his life/affairs carefully to avoid complications that could ruin his political future.

  • Intimacy Note: This role involves a simulated sex scene with the actress playing Tiff. No nudity is required.

  • Appears in 9 Scenes

  • Day Rate $100 a day

Vanessa Vaughn (African American)

  • Age Range: 30s–40s.

  • Description: Sharp, direct, and polished. A former employee of Club Lace (known then as "Diamond") who married into respectability.

  • Motivation: Conflicted survival. She is driven to secure her future at any cost, using leverage and her brother's power to erase her past and gain the upper hand in her marriage.

  • Appears in 11 Scenes

  • Day Rate $100 a day

Caldwell (Open Race)

  • Age Range: 30s–40s.

  • Description: Chief of Staff to Senator Vaughn. He is observant, shifts with the political winds, and is quick to shut down liabilities.

  • Motivation: Cold efficiency. He is motivated by the success of the campaign and is willing to "weaponize" scandals to protect himself rather than falling for someone else's corruption.

  • Appears in 5 Scenes

  • Day Rate $80 a day

Captain Reed (African American)

  • Age Range: 50s.

  • Description: A powerful, confident, and smiling police captain who acts as if he owns the city. He is Vanessa’s brother.

  • Motivation: Greed disguised as family loyalty. He uses his official position to run "off the books" operations to protect his sister’s interests and "cleanup" any threats to her status.

  • Appears in 5 Scenes

  • Day Rate $80 a day

Harris (Open Race)

  • Age Range: 30s.

  • Description: An aggressive and opportunistic county officer. He is confident, lacks a moral compass, and uses his badge to intimidate.

  • Motivation: Deception. He "wears different hats," working as a fixer for Reed to handle "surprises" and threats through kidnapping or elimination.

  • Appears in 9 Scenes

  • Day Rate $80 a day

Chloe (Open Race)

  • Age Range: 20s.

  • Description: Confident, focused, and professional. She moves through the club with "practiced ease" and is highly observant. While others see a "pretty face," Chloe is an intelligent survivor who understands that "memory is currency".

  • Motivation: Security and Leverage. Driven by a need to secure a future and "real money," Chloe isn't just working; she is documenting. She records Senator Vaughn’s confessions and relapses, attempting to sell this "fatal" information to his political rivals to buy her way out of the life.

  • Intimacy Note: This role requires a flashback scene set in a bedroom with the actor playing Senator Vaughn. The actress must be comfortable with close physical proximity and intimate touch (fastening jewelry/tucking hair) while sitting on a bed . No nudity or simulated sex is required for this specific character.

  • Appears in 4 Scenes

Time Frame: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM

You will not be needed the entire day. Extras will be rotated in and out as needed.

Time Frame: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
