Travel & Lodging: Local Hire Policy

As a micro-budget production, we prioritize casting local talent to ensure our resources remain focused on the quality of the storytelling.

Local Hire Status

The majority of roles for this project are designated as Local Hires. This means that production will not provide or reimburse for travel, transportation, or lodging accommodations.

  • Out-of-Town Submissions: Non-local actors are welcome to submit; however, if selected, you must be willing to work as a local hire.

  • Travel Responsibilities: Out-of-town talent is fully responsible for their own transportation and housing logistics for the duration of their filming dates.

  • Breakdown Exceptions: Should a specific role offer travel or lodging, it will be explicitly stated in the character breakdown.

Professional Expectations

We are seeking professional, reliable performers who are prepared to manage their own logistics. Your diligence in being "set-ready" and managing your travel independently is a crucial part of maintaining a smooth and efficient production process for the entire crew.

Recording Your Audition

  • Performance: Perform the scene using the provided script sides.

  • The Reader: You must use a reader (someone off-camera reading the opposite lines).

  • Natural Dialogue: Auditions without a reader—or at minimum a clear pre-recorded off-screen voice—may be overlooked. Hearing another voice allows your performance to feel natural and shows how you respond in real dialogue.

  • The Slate: At the beginning of your video, clearly state the following on camera:

    • Full Name

    • Contact Information

    • Current City & State

    • Role/Character you are auditioning for

    • Representation (Agent/Manager), if applicable.

Additional Materials

Along with your audition link, please submit:

  • A professional headshot or a recent photo.

  • Note: A clean, well-lit phone photo is acceptable if you do not have professional headshots.

Submission Instructions

To keep our process efficient, please follow these steps exactly:

  1. Upload to YouTube: Set your video to UNLISTED.

  2. Email: Send the unlisted link to TPNCasting@gmail.com.

Title: In My Pain

Synopsis

Young Sharon grows up in a world where the music is loud, but the security is thin. While riding her bike through suburban streets, she catches glimpses of a peace that feels foreign to her own home—a home marked by a revolving door of "unfamiliar people" and the volatile energy of her mother’s toxic relationships.

As Sharon transitions from an observant child to a guarded teenager, her search for belonging leads her away from the structured world of her Jewish community and into a cycle of survival. Influenced by the instability of her household and the lack of a protective father figure. She begins to mistake attention for love, eventually spiraling into drug use and abusive partnerships.

The narrative follows Sharon through her darkest chapters: the loss of her children to her own mother, the desperation of homelessness, and the exploitation of the streets. Just as she reaches a breaking point where life feels no longer worth living, a chance encounter with a compassionate police officer and a transformative stay at a Christian recovery center offer her a final lifeline.

In My Pain is a powerful, faith-driven exploration of resilience. It is the story of a woman who had to lose everything to find herself, ultimately reconciling with her family and stepping into her calling to help others find their way out of the dark.

When preparing your audition for "In My Pain," it is essential to review the specific submission requirements for your targeted role, as instructions vary depending on the character's size and impact. For roles that include script sides, you may notice that some documents provide two separate scenes; while you are welcome to perform just one, we highly recommend recording both, as this provides a much stronger impact and allows our casting team to better see your emotional range.

Please be aware that certain featured extra roles with lines do not require script auditions and instead only require the submission of a professional reel or a video monologue. It is crucial to read the breakdown for your specific character carefully to ensure you are submitting the correct materials, as we prioritize professional and reliable performers who can follow detailed directions. As a reminder, all auditions must be sent as an unlisted YouTube link to TPNCasting@gmail.com with your headshot or a well-lit phone photo attached, ensuring the character’s name is the only text in the subject line.
